What Your Movers Wish You Knew

At Crown Moving, we provide the best moving experience for you and your family. We take care of as much stress as possible. But things can still go wrong. We want to make moving as smooth as possible for you, and that includes letting you know how we work best.

At Crown Moving we have a few ways for you to help us with your southern Utah move

Here are the things we want you to know:

  1. Keep track of your valuables. Don’t pack cash, jewelry, important documents, or prescription meds. Have a box of valuables ready to go and stay with you. These are personal items that can easily get lost in a big move.
  2. Have logistics ready. We need to know where to park, how to access the apartment or house, parking hours, and any other pertinent information. There may be some paperwork that needs to be done beforehand as well.
  3. Don’t overload big boxes. Put heavy things in the smaller boxes. Oversized boxes and overweight loads are time consuming and require more manpower than we may have.
  4. Label everything. We don’t know what’s in the boxes, where boxes belong, or what you need in every room. Labels will help us know where to go and help you not have to work as a traffic director.
  5. Finish packing before moving day. We can pack most of it for you, but you may want to have a few suitcases and boxes set aside of valuables and necessary items, such as clothes and toiletries. If we’re not packing, then you’ll want to be sure to have everything set to go when we arrive to put it all in the truck.
  6. Forewarn about fragile items. Give forewarning about fragile and valuable items. Let us know long before moving day if you have a large piano, expensive telescope, or other large item to move. Then we can plan truck space accordingly.
  7. Empty the furniture. Clothes, games, cleaning supplies, and any other random items can make heavy furniture even more awkward to move out. Full drawers are more likely to slide and shift, making the move more dangerous for us and your items.
  8. Don’t disappear. Yes, we’re there to get the job done. But we still need your direction and help to know where everything is supposed to go. If you need to hide out in the back garden, let us know so we can find you with any questions.
  9. Let us do the heavy lifting. We know you want to help move the boxes in, but really, that’s what we’re here for. Let us do our job. We need your help with more traffic direction or reassembling furniture.

These are just a few ways you can help us on your moving day. Look at a few more suggestions on how to help your movers make moving day as stress-free as possible.
